Frequently Asked Questions
Does online therapy actually work, or is it just a downgrade from in-person?
Honestly, it works. Research backs teletherapy as just as effective as in-person care for anxiety, depression, and most of what brings people in. The screen isn't the variable that matters; the quality of the conversation is, and that's what we focus on either way. Also, it gives clients the comfort of their own space to talk about whatever they are going through easily.
What actually happens during a virtual session?
You log into a secure, private video call from wherever you're comfortable, no complicated setup. From there, it runs like any real session, same depth, same attention, just without the commute.
What should I expect walking into session one?
Marks and devious Semikoli but the Little Blind Text didn’t listen. She packed her seven versalia, put her initial into the belt and made herself on the way.
How long does a session actually run?
Usually 45 to 50 minutes, though that can shift depending on what kind of support you're getting. We'll map that out together during your first consultation.
Is what I say actually kept private?
Yes, completely. Standard clinical confidentiality and HIPAA protections apply whether we're remote or in person. Nothing gets shared without your explicit okay, aside from the rare legal exceptions every licensed provider has to follow.
